February Favorites!

February in Ohio has brought some realllllllll weird weather, but it was a quick and pleasant month. Here are some of my favorite products that I enjoyed the whole month of February, enjoy (:

lululemon Toasty Tech Tight II

DSC00119LW5J69S_0001_1

I wear these leggings 99% of my life and I’m not even made about it. They are so incredibly warm because they have sweat-wicking tech fleece brushed on the inside of them. I’ve worn them in single-digit weather and could barely feel the cold wind on my legs, it was insane. They are probably the most comfortable pair of leggings I own, they’re stretchy & thick, they have a higher waist band & reflective pockets so they’re great or running at night. If it’s cold where you live & you want to get a good pair of leggings that will keep you warm outside, these are perfect!

Skin Food by Aubrey

DSC00120

I discovered these products at my local Whole Foods store a few weeks back & decided I’d give them a try! I got the Detox Face Mask, the Lavender Probiotic Natural Deodorant, and the Immunity Body Butter. She creates Artisan organic skincare and all of her products are made with raw ingredients. Aubrey lives somewhat close to me & her products are sold locally in Ohio at select Whole Foods stores! Supporting local is huge for me & her products are seriously amazing. The detox mask you mix with water & then apply the serum after and the next day your skin will be glowing and radiant looking. The deodorant is fantastic & I can go through a workout and not smell myself (which is a huge feat for me lol). The body butter is probably my favorite item of all because it’s so hydrating and smells AMAZING! I really believe its very important to watch what you put on your body as well as what you ingest. It’s hard with all these products out now a days, but products like these make going to organic products so much easier! Check out her Etsy shop here (: She has everything you possibly think of!

Nike Air Force 1 Ultra Flyknit

DSC00121

I’m obsessed. Lol. I really don’t have much to say about them except I was so excited to get these and they’re so different for me because I usually wear Free Runs & Air Max shoes. These are super light & they are actually incredibly comfortable, if you’re looking to change up your shoes or you’re bored with your current shoes, check these out!

Young Living Essential Oils

DSC00122

I discovered Young Living not long ago & I’m so glad I decided to finally take the leap of faith. These oils are actually amazing & I’m not gonna lie, I was super skeptical about them to begin with. I figured what could an oil actually do for you? But boy was I wrong. I already have a few favorites but I’m thinking about doing a whole post on that here in the near future (let me know if you’d be interested in seeing a post like that!). Since using these, I’ve really reduced the anxiety I deal with, my sleep has gotten dramatically better, my stress has really lessened & so have the effects I have from it, and my energy level have increased. Sounds like a miracle but I really do believe these oils have worked, at least my mind believes they have because I’ve seen really great improvements from using these. I got the Starter Kit with the Dewdrop diffuser & if you don’t know a whole lot about essential oils, definitely do some research on them!

Sephora Express Cleansing Wipes

DSC00124

These cleansing wipes are EVERYTHING. I’ve used just about every makeup remover wipe under the sun and these easily take the cake. I used them to take up normal makeup for about a week, but the real test was just the other night when I used them to take off a full face of glam makeup. I use the House of Lashes lash glue & if you’ve used it before you understand how incredibly hard it is to get all of it off. I’ve had lash glue stuck in my lashes before for over a week with this stuff. But I used one of these remover wipes and not only did it take every little bit of makeup off my face with just one wipe, it took off every last bit of the lash glue and a liquid lipstick with one swipe. I was so incredibly surprised & I’ll never use any other brand of makeup remover wipes again. Online it says they cleanse and tone the skin while hydrating thanks to the hyaluronic acid them. Best part? They’re $9… you seriously can’t beat them & if you’re looking for a great makeup remover wipe for travel or anything else – TRY THESE!

lululemon Base Runner Pant III

DSC00125LW5LGIS_024541_1

I will never love a pair of sweatpants as much as I love these. Bold statement, but these are seriously the bomb. They are made with Rulu fabric & if you’re familiar with lulu’s fabric, you know when you see Rulu in anything, it’s going to feel like you’re putting heaven on your body. They are also sweat wicking, but honestly I wear these to lounge around the house in (currently have them on as I type this post..lol). They’re similar to jogger pants, they have a hugged sensation on your legs, but they’re baggy at the same time. They have a higher waist band and are tight around the ankles. The pockets are huge and they have a drawstring at the top. They’re just so comfortable, you need to at least try them on in a lulu store to feel them, I promise you’ll fall in love!

This post was relatively short, but so was this month! Let me know what some of your favorites for this month were & as always, thanks for reading (:

Fitness Update

I really enjoy doing these monthly updates & I think I’m going to start listing my goals on these posts to set myself accountable for each month. SO, I just got back from Florida on Saturday night & it was a nice relaxing vacation where I did nothing but shop, eat, swim and fish – perfect vacation. It was especially nice because I had a week to let loose before I started my half marathon training which started today.

As far as fitness goes, I think I adjusted my issue of eating whatever I wanted before vacation & I had a pretty good meal plan going & managed to lose about 5 pounds before vacation – which I’m sure I gained back on vacation, but I refuse to step on the scale lol. I find having food made and planned out really helped me – if you don’t plan, you’re planning to fail. I was on a pretty strict meal plan that I set for myself as well consisting mainly of lean meats, greens, and sustainable carbs, 6 times a day. I really feel my schooling is starting to kick in and allow me to understand proper nutrition and what exactly my body needs in order to function properly. I also allowed myself a cheat MEAL, not cheat WEEKEND like I had been doing. Honestly, it just takes a lot of will power & once you get that “just one piece of pizza” or “well, i already had 1 cookie, what’s another gonna do?” out of your head, it’s pretty easy to stick with it. It’s hard though, it really is. I know a lot of people struggle with the dieting aspect of fitness but food isn’t something we were meant to eat to enjoy, we were meant to eat to fuel our bodies. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with cheats though & it’s actually essential to success because you can’t completely deprive your body of what it likes because then you’ll just crave it more & when you give in you’ll binge.

it’s all about balance.

So as far as fitness I’m cutting back now on my lifting to twice a week & doing more of a cross training type of workout & running 4 times a week. My half marathon training just started today and I had a rough 4 mile run with fartleks. If you don’t know, fartlek is a Swedish word that means speed play and basically you’ll run a faster pace for an allotted amount of time and run a constant pace for an allotted amount of time & switch between the two for however many miles. Today I had a mile warm up, 2 miles of fartleks and a mile cool down. For the first day of training I was shocked for sure because I haven’t ran in over 2 and a half months so my body was a little rusty, but my endurance definitely felt okay, which I was overjoyed about. I can already tell though that my hips and knees are going to give me problems. I figure foam rolling, ice and anti-inflammatorys are going to be my BFF. If you have any remedies for these issues, please help a girl out!

I also seem to really like the PowerBar energy chews on my runs & I really do feel like they make a difference, but they have caffeine in them & my body doesn’t handle that crash very well because I never drink pop or coffee. So, if you also have any gels/chews/powders you use- please help a girl out with that too!

Other than all that jazz, I’m pretty content with where I am with my fitness & I think I’ll definitely challenge myself for the month of June with my goals because if it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you & ain’t that the damn truth.

July Goals:

1. Hit every long run of the month with confidence & keep up with training! (No skipping runs!)

2. Really stay strict on my meals and don’t get lazy with prep or eating! (One cheat MEAL a week!)

3. Stay ahead of knee/hip issues with stretching, foam rolling, icing & mobility! *********

I hope wherever you are in your fitness journey, it’s going well & I hope this motivated some of you to set some goals for yourself in the hot month of July! If you have any suggestions on hip/knee soreness or energy gels/chews please leave them below! Also, if you’d like to share your journey with me, I’d love to hear it!

As always, thanks for reading (:

May Favorites!

Did the month of May even happen?! I feel like it flew right by and it was here and gone in a week! My monthly favorites for May are going to be all over the place & I didn’t really buy that many new products but I used a lot of the stuff I’ve had from previous purchases. I also cannot believe that we’re almost halfway through 2015 already ?! On the bright side, Summer is in sight and with it being 2 days into June, the weather here in Ohio has been awful – cloudy, rainy and in the mid 50’s -_- So, with all that being said, I hope everyone had a great May & I hope June is even better!

FitBook – 20$ at Target

IMG_0255

My first favorite is my FitBook! I’ve been obsessed with this thing ever since I bought it and I really feel like it helps me keep track of my food & workouts all while staying on track. There’s so many great things about this book like the goal setting pages with the rewards for reaching your goals and also the inspiration page! I always log my workouts as soon as I get home and I feel like when you see a full page of different movements, it’s a feeling of accomplishment. I love this book and I really do feel like it’s made a difference in my fitness goals & motivation. They sell them at Target as well as online & if you feel sometimes your motivation isn’t there, get one of these & I think you’ll see a difference in your workout schedule and also your diet!

Too Faced Sugar Pop palette – 36$ at Sephora

IMG_0256

This palette looks intimidating, I know – but it’s so pretty and I think it’s the best palette for the summer time because there’s so many fun colors and looks you could do with this. I’ve done both a neutral eye look and a fun pop of blue look with this and I can’t get over how pigmented these shadows are and how easy they were to blend. I’d been really wanting to get this palette for the longest time but I couldn’t get over the thought I had in the back of my mind of “You’re going to look like a clown with all those colors on your eye” – but luckily my boyfriend was nice enough to get it for me & I can’t put this thing down now. Too Faced always has great palettes and this one is nothing short of amazing. Life’s too short for boring makeup!

6 Pack Fitness Camille Sport Tote – 100$ on sixpackbags.com (color is currently out of stock 😦 )

IMG_0257IMG_0258IMG_0259

To say I’m obsessed with this bag is an understatement. This bag is perfect for anywhere and the color is adorable. It carries 4 meals, water bottles, pills, books, blankets, tanning lotion, supplements – anything you could possibly need to take with you. I’m so excited to take it to Florida at the end of June so I can use it as a beach bag and also take whatever meals & food I want to take with me. It has a zipper closure at the top of the bag so you can keep all of your stuff from falling out, 7 different pockets on the inside for water bottles, money, pills, powders or anything else and 4 meal compartments in the back that came with 3 ice packs. I like this bag because it’s much more functional than carrying around the original bags they made that look like gigantic lunch boxes on steroids. This one isn’t too big, but definitely has room for everything & again – the color!

Pureology Strength Cure line – Ulta

IMG_0261

So I was running low on my normal shampoo & conditioner and my mom was nice enough to pick this line up for me at Ulta a few weeks ago. Since I’ve been using all 3, my hair has never felt better. This stuff is expensive, even the smaller bottles are about 35$ a pop, but it’s expensive for a reason. I’ve put my hair through so much and it was so dry and damaged and just didn’t look nice, but when I started using this, I noticed my hair wasn’t breaking or falling out as much and my ends looked less dry and damaged. I also stopped brushing my hair out when it’s wet, I stopped using so much heat and I put Argan oil in it every night before I go to bed & I’ve really seen a transformation in my hair. This is easily my favorite shampoo, conditioner and leave in that I’ve ever used & I’ve really noticed a difference in how my hair feels since I’ve been using this.

Shields of Strength Ladies Tiffany Blue Weight Plate in Stainless Steel – 59$

IMG_0262

I haven’t been able to take this necklace off since I bought it. Not only am I clearly obsessed with this blue color that I’ve seemed to buy everything in, but the verse on the back really serves as a great reminder everyday that “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” This company has a really great back story and they always go out of their way to show support to people in need & their athletes. I have a whole post on them and their story! Their products are amazing quality and they’re so unique. If you’re interested in purchasing from them, visit this link and when you sign up you’ll get 10% off your purchase!

MyFitnessPal – free in the app store!

IMG_0263

This app in coordination with my FitBook has really helped me stay on track with my eating habits. If I’m out and about and I don’t have my book with me I can enter it in MyFitnessPal and transfer it later. It gives you the calories and macros which are really important ! I haven’t found anything that wasn’t in MyFitnessPal and they added a new feature where you can scan the barcode on any products and it brings up the information so you don’t have to search for it ! All you have to do is enter a few things in the information part and it gives you your macros and daily recommended calorie intake – or you can manually enter your macros if you know what you’re supposed to be eating! This app really helps & also when you log your food, you can cut up to 500-1000 calories in a day!

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone – 38$ at Sephora

IMG_0265

So I know for the longest time everyone was obsessed with Opal, but it really never looked very good on my skin tone and just looked way too gold for my liking. So when I found Moonstone, I was in love. First off, these blend like a dream and look so natural on your skin. They have zero glitter, sparkle, anything and they just give such a pretty glow to your cheek bones. Moonstone is definitely good for anyone that has a fair skin tone or pink undertones because it’s much lighter and less gold than Opal. Becca has come out with so many of these now & they’re all so pretty, but this one is by far my favorite and I can’t seem to stop using it every time I do my makeup! I’d definitely try any of these if you’re in the market for a really pretty, natural highlighter!

Whirlybird Vanilla Berry Granola – 8$ at Fresh Thyme Farmers Market (also seen it at Kroger)

IMG_0268

This granola is SOOOOOO good! It has locally harvested maple syrup, rolled oats, organic agave nectar, flax seeds, pumpkin seeds, almonds, vanilla and dried blueberries in it and it’s the best granola I’ve had to date. They have a couple different flavors but I’m obsessed with blueberries so I had to try this one first. It’s pretty good for you too with only 150 calories, 6g fat, & 8g sugar per serving! I always pre-measure my food out so if I know I’ll be out and about I’ll take a serving or two with me and it’s a great snack (eating some right now as we speak). It’s also delicious over greek yogurt with strawberries! Not to mention you can actually pronounce and recognize all of the ingredients in it! I’m really anxious to try the other flavors as well, but so far this one’s gonna be hard to beat!

Nike Dri-fit Athletic Cut v-neck – 25$ at Dick’s Sporting Goods

IMG_0267

These are really comfortable and it honestly took me a while to get something different to wear to the gym because I usually just wear shorts and an old soccer t-shirt because I have 500 of them and it was just easy to grab. My gym gets REALLY hot in the summer because it’s an old warehouse and there’s no A/C, only a few windows and a Big Ass Fan (literally, that’s what it’s called). So I figured I’d give these a try because they had great reviews and they looked really breathable. They 100% are both comfortable and breathable. I don’t know what took me so long to jump on this bandwagon but I’m on it & I want every color they have. I’ve had the normal Nike pro t-shirts but those get so hot because they’re basically a compression shirt & that’s just not comfortable – plus they would irritate my armpits cause the sleeves were so high cut. But these are so amazing & I think they’re great for the summer!

Flex Til You’re Famous clothing – flextyfamous.com

IMG_0269

I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to talk about them because I’ve been buying from their drops for a long time now. They have a drop one Friday a month where they come out with limited edition t-shirts, tanks, shorts, crops, hats, shoes, etc & their stuff is the bomb. It’s great quality & they have some really great apparel. They only make a limited amount of each item & when they release it in a drop, when it’s gone it’s gone until they bring it back or have a pre-order. They’re having a release this Friday so if you want to get some stuff I would recommend it! Visit this link to get on their mailing list & visit their instagram: @flextyfamous

The Protein Cookie Company – theproteincookiecompany.com (variety pack – 20$)

IMG_2531

I haven’t tried many protein cookies, but these I will not stray from. They are delicious! I was so skeptical in trying these cause honestly anything with “protein” in it usually tastes disgusting – but not these! They honestly taste like normal cookies & they are pretty healthy for you (won’t ruin your diet). I usually ate them after a workout or if I just wanted a cookie randomly throughout the day. They’re HUGE too! They aren’t a tiny little cookie, you get a pretty good sized cookie & they’re all around 250 calories a pop & about 18-20g of protein. I got the variety pack which included chocolate chip, peanut butter chip, oatmeal raisin, trail mix, dark cocoa chocolate chip & dark cocoa peanut butter chip. I loved them all except the trail mix one which had a little too many seeds in it for my liking, but the cookie flavor itself was really good. I also normally HATE oatmeal raisin, but this one was delicious (yes, when I grabbed it I thought it was chocolate chip LOL – trust issues!!!!) These are overall really great & I’ve already ordered my second round of them!

Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet – 75$-98$ at Sephora

IMG_0270

I wasn’t going to include this because honestly, you can’t smell it over a computer? But I couldn’t help it cause I’ve worn it almost everyday since April. It’s smells so amazing & it’s got a nice floral scent without making you smell like you just ran through a field of flowers. It’s a very sophisticated scent & I get compliments every single time I wear it. Next time you’re in Sephora or wherever, smell it! I promise you’ll become obsessed !

I told you these favorites were going to be all over the place, lol. Nonetheless, I hope these made you want to try something new in June ! Let me know some of your favorites or if you’ve also tried some of the products I’ve mentioned and how you like them! As always, thanks for reading (:

April Favorites!

I don’t know about anyone else but I am SO happy April is over. There was so much stress from finals week and the last few weeks of school I felt like April was a year-long. I’ve been neglecting to post for a while but I’ve been so wrapped up in studying that I had literally no time for anything else. Thank GOD finals are over & now I can enjoy summer. My April favorites will be very random and mostly makeup because my workouts have really been the same and I’ve been using the same stuff the past month! I’m done rambling so now let’s get into some favorites!

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation – $62 at Nordstrom

IMG_0201

I’ve raved so much about this foundation, but honestly it’s my favorite foundation I’ve probably ever used. It’s really pricey, but I promise that it is worth ever single penny. The finish it gives your skin makes you look like you’re glowing from within and have zero flaws on your face. It gives great coverage and I don’t feel like it ever clings to any dry patches I may have on my face. I’m oily and I don’t find this to ever make me look like a grease ball, but I also set it with a powder. It lasts for a while too with a powder- without a powder I find it lasts for about 3-4 hours before I have to start blotting and touching up. I’m shade 5.5 and it matches perfectly & there is a HUGE range of shades!

Tory Burch Large All-T Leather Wristlet in Juniper Berry – $185 at Nordstrom

IMG_0202

I love this thing! My wonderful mother got it for me after I finished school for a congratulatory gift & it’s quickly become my favorite everyday carryall! It actually fits my iPhone 6 plus and so much more! I have enough room in there for my phone, cards, ID, lipsticks, liners, lip glosses, blotting powder and any other random thing I may need. I like it because 1. the color is life – it’s freakin beautiful & 2. because I hate carrying big purses to the store, bars or any other place I may go & this cuts down on all the things I have to carry! It’s perfect for summer & I know I’ll get a ton of use out of it. Thanks mom (:

Maybelline Rebel Bloom lipsticks – $7.49 at Ulta

IMG_0204

So I swatched these a few times and thought about buying them, but I never did because I just wasn’t sure I really loved them. So finally, I bit the bullet and bought not one, but two of these and I absolutely love them! I have the colors Blushing Bud and Peach Poppy. Blushing Bud is much more pink than what shows in the container and Peach Poppy is pretty true to color. I love these because they aren’t drying like most drugstore lipsticks and the colors are beautiful for spring & summer. If you’re looking for a good lipstick for a great price, I’d go check these out!

Cassey Ho’s Hot Body Year Round book – $12.53 on Amazon

IMG_0206

This book is amazing! Cassey Ho is a YouTube fitness personality and she’s so motivational and inspiring! This book gives you countless workouts, recipes and meal plans – you can’t go wrong. There’s also a ton of motivational quotes in the book as well & stories she tells along the way. I love Cassey because she’s such a great soul inside & out that I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to support this amazing woman! She has an amazing video on YouTube about body shaming and I really think everyone needs to watch it – so I’ll link it here!

IMG_0207

Probably the thing I was most excited about is my new makeup vanity/workspace. I’m head over heels about it and could not be happier! It’s all from Ikea & they were all separate things (I’ll link them all down below). I have SO much more storage with this and I don’t feel overwhelmed and crowded like I did with my old vanity. If you’re a makeup hoarder like I am, you need this in your life. Table top, drawers & chair ! I’m in love with it all!

Nice Stems candle – $12.99 at Target

IMG_0208

One whiff of this in Target & I was sold. This thing smells SO good. It’s very floral and clean smelling with not too much of an overpowering flower smells. This candle smells exactly like Peony &  Blush Suede from Jo Malone. It’s hard to describe the smell but if you see this at Target, you need to get it because it’s amazing. Plus it’s soy so it’ll burn forever and won’t give off a black smoke like B&BW candles tend to do!

Sinful Colors nail polish in Sail La Vie – $2.99 at Target

IMG_0209

This color is beautiful and just looks very pretty on the nails! It’s from the Bloom Blast collection, which has a TON of pretty colors, that recently came out. It stays on for a good amount of time as well without chipping or looking streaky. I’d definitely check the out if you get the chance!

MAC Peaches blush ($22) & MAC Prep & Prime in Radiant Rose ($26)

IMG_0210

I put these both together because they’re both MAC products & I think they look beautiful together! Peaches is a very peachy/coral colored blush and it just looks so natural and beautiful on the cheeks. It’s the perfect color for most skin tones & I think it’ll be great for summer. I also use the prep & prime stick in radiant rose which gives BEAUTIFUL glow on top of concealer. They have different shades for different undertones, but I’m pink undertone so I got this color & it’s perfect with my skin! You just can’t go wrong with MAC!

Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss in #15 Sensible – $34 at Chanel counters

IMG_0211

I know, it’s a lot for a lipgloss, but honestly it’s more like a laquer when it goes on. It’s very thick & pigmented and gives pretty great coverage with one application. Chanel can do no wrong in my eyes and their stuff is always great quality- which is why I have no problem spending money there. It’s not sticky and it lasts a pretty long while & it smells like every Chanel product does – which is a great bonus. The shade I got is a very pretty light pink ! And has anyone seen their new packaging for these and the lipsticks?! It’s fabulous!

L’oreal Infallible Pro-Matte foundation – 11.99 at Target

IMG_0213

So I’ve heard so much about this foundation & I decided to give it a try and see what all the hype was about. Let me tell you, this stuff is high end quality, at drugstore price. It reminds me a lot of the new NARS foundation because it’s a demi matte finish and looks beautiful on the skin. I had to get two colors though which is the only downside because the color range was kind of nonexistent. But when I mix Natural Buff & Shell Beige together, I get the perfect color for my skin tone! It lasts for a pretty long time too, I didn’t have to blot or touch up for about 7 hours, which is amazing for drugstore makeup. The coverage is great too, it really covers everything & is medium coverage, but definitely buildable to full coverage! It also feels like nothing is on your skin & I didn’t think it looked cakey at all when I applied it with a beauty blender! Definitely the best drugstore foundation I’ve used in a while!

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage concealer – $28 at Sephora

IMG_0214

This is easily the best concealer I’ve used, even better than the NARS creamy concealer, by far! It’s full coverage with one swipe and feels so weightless underneath the eyes- so basically it does exactly what the name says, even though it’s incredibly long. I think UD did an amazing job with this concealer & it doesn’t crease AT ALL underneath my eyes, even with wearing it for a while. I’m in the shade Fair Neutral and it’s perfect for me! I would recommend this stuff to everyone & if you don’t have it already, you need it now!

Jo Malone Body Creme in Peony & Blush Suede – $75 at Nordstrom

IMG_0217

$75 for a lotion? C’mon. Really? YES! If you’ve tried Jo Malone stuff before you know there’s a reason as to why it’s so expensive. It keeps you hydrated literally for 4 days if you didn’t shower and it smells, just, omg. There’s no way to explain it correctly because it’s just amazing. This is my favorite scent she makes and I just love this stuff. It’ll last forever too because I’ve had mine since January and I still have well over 3/4 left in the jar. Definitely give her products a try!

Nike Free 4.0 in Tropical Twist w/ Swarovski Crystals – Gold Home Couture

IMG_0216

I’m just obsessed with these things. They’re beautiful and they’re my favorite color. What more could a girl want? I got them off of the same Etsy store I got my blingy Nike gym bag from, which is linked in the description and I just can’t. She used the highest quality crystals and you can definitely tell with the way these beauties sparkle! They’re also a great price for how high demand these things are. I’ve seen some pairs go for over $300 on eBay ! Give her Etsy store some love !! She’s an amazing person!

I hope you all get some ideas on some new products you want to try from this post & let me know if you try and love any of them! Also let me know some of your April favorites! Thanks for reading (:

Spring Running Essentials!

So I’ve been MIA for a little bit because the end of the semester is hitting hard & finals week is upon us. With that being said, I wanted to get a post up about things I love to have when I run. If you didn’t already know, I’m training for the Air Force Half Marathon! This is my first ever half and I’m excited/nervous/anxious & all the emotions in between about it! So I’ve been running quite a bit and the Spring is honestly my favorite time of the year to run because the weather is great & there’s the pretty scenery of everything coming to life after this disgustingly cold winter we’ve had! Unfortunately the bulk of my training will be in July and August (OMG) so let’s all say a quick prayer that I get through the hot training days!

Here’s a list of some of my favorite things to use/wear while I run! (:

IMG_0129

Investing in a good watch is a great idea for training or just wanting to see progress! This is the Garmin Forerunner 15 & I love it! It shows miles, calories, pace, time and splits (which are very important for training)! It’s not too big & it’s by far my favorite watch I’ve owned! Check it out here!

IMG_0131

Shoes! Probably the most important part of running. If your shoes suck, your runs will suck! Getting a good pair of shoes that fit your personal needs is a huge part of running! I have the Brooks Glycerin 12 ‘s and it’s by far the most comfortable shoe I’ve ever ran in! They have all kinds of colors here !

IMG_0133

Energy gels and chews are a new thing I just came into and so far I love them for longer runs! I haven’t experimented with many but I definitely love the PowerBar ones for longer runs! I keep them with me and pop one every time I feel myself slacking off and they give me an instant burst of energy! The Shot Bloks are also a favorite of mine at the moment!

Fanny Packs! I know, I know, the 90’s are long gone & I myself confess to thinking these were dorky, BUT – they are extremely useful! I have the iPhone 6+ so it’s really too big to put on my arm. So putting it in one of these allows me to keep my phone, keys, mace, chews, etc. all in one place for easy access! This company makes tons of cute patterns and solid colors that are perfect for spring!

Audio Book / Music playlists! Running can get boring sometimes, so I find listening to an audio book makes it a little less boring! I find if I listen to a book, I want to run more because I want to keep listening to find out what happens next- LOL. I use Audible.com and I’m currently listening to this book ! A good music playlist is always a great option too!

IMG_0139

Obviously with the audio book, you’ll need to use some sort of headphones! These beats wireless headphone are my favorite! Especially because there’s no annoying cord hitting my face while I run! If you don’t already have wireless headphone- I suggest you invest in some because if you hate having cords annoy you while you run, these will solve your problems !

IMG_0137

With it being Spring, the sun is starting to show itself a little more again, thank goodness! So SPF is always a must because you don’t want to expose yourself to too much UV light and risk getting burnt! This Hawaiian Tropic is my favorite because it kills 2 birds with one stone as a moisturizer and SPF in one for your face! Regular SPF is also important for your arms and legs as well! Also, you don’t want your lips to get burnt which will chap them and make them darker! This Jack Black is my favorite because it isn’t sticky and it has a really high SPF of 25! Get the SPF here and the lip balm here !

IMG_0138

These aren’t necessarily for while you’re running, but after I exercise, if I don’t immediately shower after, I use these wipes on my face to get the sweat and dirt off! With it being spring, the sun is out and you tend to sweat a lot more. They’re hypoallergenic, soothing, and 95% natural! They have tons of different kinds here !

IMG_0140

They don’t say April showers bring May flowers for nothing.. It’s spring, so sometimes the weather can be unpredictable. If it’s raining, this is my favorite rain jacket. It’s light, roomy, and can we just appreciate that color for a second?! Nike has a bunch of functional and cute ones here !

IMG_5463

This post wouldn’t be complete without my favorite shorts ever! These are the perfect running short because they’re so light and give your quads a ton of room to move! They also have a zip pocket on the leg to store whatever else you may need! Get them here if you haven’t already!

WATER! The most important thing of all. If you’re running a long run, you’ll want to keep yourself hydrated to perform at your best! I really like this one which is pictured above because it has 2 small water bottles and also a pack in the middle to store all your stuff! Spring weather can get above 75 and running for 1.5 hours + you’ll definitely need all the hydration you can get!

These are a few things I found essential to running in the spring that I usually always have with me when I run! Let me know some of your essentials for running & as always, thanks for reading (:

March Favorites!

So as we’re coming to the end of what I like to think is the last winter month of the year (THANK GOD), I wanted to post a few items I used obsessively throughout the month of March. They will consist of makeup, fitness items and just random things I couldn’t get enough of. If you like any of these items let me know in the comments or tell me what some of your favorite items are, I’d love to hear because as we all know I love a chance to buy/try something new! Thanks for reading! (:

Disclaimer: I am NOT a photographer nor do I really have any experience with a camera. I grabbed the camera my parents used to use to take pictures at soccer games and random events- don’t judge haha.

YSL Fusion Ink Foundation SPF 18- 60$ at SephoraIMG_5430

So I bought this stuff back in December I believe and I used it maybe once or twice and I was obsessed both time I used it. Well I just recently discovered my love for this foundation again at the beginning of the month. It’s a bit on the pricey side, but it’s YSL and in my eyes they can do no wrong with makeup. It claims to have all day comfort- YES, I’ve never had such a comfortable, breathable foundation before. It says it has a soft-matte finish- uhhh, it feels like you’re putting velvet on your face. It also has SPF 18, which is great for the coming summer months because remember, your face/neck ages the quickest and nothing ages you faster than the sun, so put your sunscreen on. No tan is worth looking like a leather bag when you’re 50. If you’re curious, my shade is BR30- cool almond.

NARS Audacious Lipstick: Anna- 32$ at SephoraIMG_5433

THIS. LIPSTICK. IS. GORGEOUS. Guys! Oh my god, I am obsessed. I searched like 4 different Sephora’s and none of them had it until I went to a small one inside JC Penny’s and got the very last one! This is easily my favorite lipstick I’ve ever purchased and beats the hell out of all my MAC colors. It’s 32$ though… Seriously NARS? Whatever, beside the price, its a beautiful smoky rose color and I really don’t think it will look bad on any skin tone. This stuff is PIGMENTED too, one swipe across the lips and you’re covered for about 2-3 hours. It has a satin finish which I like because I hate skinny lipsticks (MAC frosted lipsticks… yuck) and sometimes I find matte to be super drying. I find using it with MAC Whirl is the best color combination and prevents the lipstick from fading too quickly. This lipstick is the best of all worlds when it comes to lipsticks & will be beautiful no matter the season!

stila Stay All Day liquid lipstick: Patina- 22$ at Sephora or Ulta

IMG_5434

So this lipstick is basically the same exact color as NARS Anna, BUT- its a liquid, matte dry lipstick. When still said Stay All Day- they weren’t kidding. The first time I put this on and let it dry, I had to use avocado oil to get it off. Its a beautiful dusty rose color & it has great coverage and pigmentation. I didn’t even need to use a lip liner with this color and it lasted for a good 6 hours before it started fading near the inside of my mouth but that’s probably just because I talk too much. It was also really moisturizing, it felt like I was applying water to my lips when I put it on. It has vitamin E and avocado oil in it, so it’s a great lipstick to wear as we try and recover from out wintery crusty crust lips.

Nike duffle bag with Swarovski crystals- 95$ on Etsy

IMG_5439

I LOVE this bag. It’s absolutely gorgeous and it fits anything and everything I need to take to the gym. I was using a drawstring bag to carry my Crossfit shoes, lifting straps, wrist wraps, protein and amino bottles, keys and water………. yeah. So this fits all that and honestly, if I wanted to put my cat in it and bring her I probably could. The owner of this Etsy shop is so incredibly nice, she answers any and all questions you may have and her prices are amazing because this is the best quality of Swarovski crystals I’ve seen to date. She has Nike shoes with crystals on them too and I plan on buy a pair, or 5, very soon! If you’re interested, check out her Etsy shop! Her prices are great and her product is amazing!

Reebok CrossFit Nano 4.0- 119$ at Rogue

IMG_5441

So for a while I was lifting in Nike shoes, and I’m gonna be honest here- Nike’s shoes are so adorable and I will continue to buy them for a lifestyle shoe, but they are NOT good lifting/exercise shoes. I was getting toe cramps and my arch of my foot would spasm every time I would do a Jerk or anything like that. So I invested in these babies and I will never go back. They have a wide toe box, opposed to Nike’s narrow toe box, that is great for lifts we do in CrossFit and Reebok really took their time with comfort on this shoe. I have never put a more comfortable shoe on my foot in my whole life. The stability these give you is also great! During Open Workout 15.5 there were A LOT of thrusters (if you did the workout, you know what I’m talking about…) and I felt so much more stable on my feet as I came up out of a squat and pressed the bar above my head. I’ll definitely be investing in more of these!

lululemon Tracker II short *2-way stretch- 54$ at lululemon

IMG_5463

I feel like I start every favorite off with “OMG I’M OBSESSED” or “OMG THESE ARE AMAZING!” But seriously…. THEY ARE AMAZING! These are by far the most comfortable pair of shorts I own (and I own 3 pairs) and I wear them for everything, CrossFit, soccer, walking, school, running, sleeping, everything. They’re so incredibly roomy- for my girls with bigger thighs, you need these. The website also says they’re sweat-wicking, but I wear compression shorts under mine when I workout so I cannot attest to that fact. But they are super lightweight and they have a side pocket with a zipper on them which is convenient for runs where you need to carry a key or money or what have you. Amazing, amazing shorts and these are probably my favorite favorite of the month 😀

iPhone 6 plus

IMG_5445

Again, OBSESSED. I love this phone and I know everyone thinks it’s a huge tablet and blah blah blah. I had the 5s before this phone and there’s just so much more on this phone! I honestly don’t know the difference, but I do know the camera is 5 times better and the battery life is amaze balls. My 5s would usually die in about 5 hours, but at the end of the day with this phone I still have close to 70% battery left. I went for the gold and I just love the hell out of it. If you think it’s too big, I assure you, my little midget hands (thanks Dad..) handle it just fine.

graze food subscription box- $6.99/week/bi-week/month

IMG_5452IMG_5453

IMG_5454IMG_5455

So, I love food. Seriously, I eat every 2.5-3 hours. This is a food subscription service that you can request on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis. I went for the bi-weekly service so I get 2 boxes a month. They have some really great choices to choose from on their website and you get 4 cute, pre-portioned snacks in every box. My mom and I both have this and the way it worked out with her bi-weekly service, we get a box every week! I pay 14$ a month for 8 snacks I don’t have to go out and buy, which isn’t bad considering I’ve done a service before that was 20$ a month 😦 I usually get a pretty good box and I’m currently munching on the thai sweet chili bites and they’re delicious. I like how I can grab a little snack and take it to school or wherever! If you’re interested in trying a box, I have a coupon code that gets you your 1st and 5th boxes for FREE! Code: MMYQDZQNB

benefit PUFF OFF!- 29$ at Sephora

IMG_5446

So I was unsure about this stuff after I got it. It seemed like it wasn’t doing anything. Until I tried it on a day where I had some SERIOUS eye bags and dark circles. It got rid of them almost completely and I looked like I had gotten 7 full hours of sleep opposed to the 4 I had actually gotten. It says it’s supposed to soothe puffy eyes and decrease the look of creases under your eyes. It really does too. I have really dry under eyes and they’re just really crease-y naturally no matter how much eye cream I put on. But this stuff really helps and the iron-tip applicator it has really cools and soothes the eyes. I also put it on before my makeup and I find my concealer creases MUCH less throughout the day when I have this stuff under it!

beats Powerbeats wireless headphones- 200$ at Target

IMG_5447

If you’re anything like me, these will save your life in the gym, on runs or any time you listen to music. I always used the earbuds I got with my phone or any other ones and they would CONSTANTLY fall out of my damn ear! I’m getting frustrated right now just thinking about it -_- and the cord I had to have plugged into my phone… no… just no. So I got these for Christmas and I use them every time I run or go to the gym and they’re amazing. Beats is known for their bass sound quality and these deliver just as much as the beats Solo headphones. They also have ear hooks, which sometimes come off, but I have small ears so that’s probably why, and it’s 15 times better than normal headphones still. They’re also bluetooth up to 30 feet so there’s no cord ! They also have a pretty good battery life of 6 hours on a full charge, sweat resistant, hands-free call taking and a volume control on the cord. They’re amazing, and you need them.

Monogrammed Sparkly water bottle- 22$ on Etsy

IMG_5449

I love anything sparkly and blue so drinking water out of this doesn’t suck haha. I drink around 64-70 ounces of water on a daily basis but for some reason, when I drink with this- it doubles. I have no idea why but I feel like I’m constantly filling it up and drinking more water. It’s so adorable and it’s insulated so your ice doesn’t melt in 4 seconds and give you kinda-cold water. The Etsy shop I got this from has LOADS of cute monogrammed/sparkly things and the owner is too sweet! I’ll leave her shop linked below so you can check it out!

Redken Blonde Idol custom tone violet conditioner- 32$ at Ulta

IMG_5450

If you get your hair colored blonde and you aren’t using a purple shampoo/conditioner, you need to start. There’s cheaper ones out there, but this one is the best one I’ve found for my personal hair color. It has a customizable nozzle on the top that you can adjust to either give you more violet conditioner or more regular conditioner. I use this in the middle ( about 3.5) twice, sometimes 3 times a week. I just recently got my hair colored and I always love the color for a good month, then my blonde turns brassy, and I hate it. So this REALLY helps with that. It’s supposed to extend the vibrancy of your blonde in between salon visits and it deep conditions your hair. It absolutely does both and it smells really good too, which is always a plus, right?

Well, I hope you all liked this post and found a new product you want to buy or try out! I love all of these products and I really think anyone who tries them will too. Let me know some of your favorites!
